Pertamina Imports Fuel for Eid’s Stock
VIVAnews – State-owned PT Pertamina will increase the stock of Premium fuel type to meet the demand from ten days before Eid to ten days after (totaling 18 days). The stock of ‘Premium’ is to be 1.28 million kiloliter and diesel 1.31 million kiloliter.
According to Pertamina Vice President of Corporate Communications, M Harun, based on previous years, the demand for the Premium on average increased approaching Eid. However, the diesel demand decreased before Eid.
To meet that need, Pertamina raised the import of fuel to 8.4 million barrels in July-August for Premium. Meanwhile, the diesel import was.4.4 million barrels. Premium import figure compared to last year rose as much as 7.2 million barrels.
"The increase was triggered by the growth of the motorcycle," Harun said in Jakarta on Thursday, July 28, 2011.
Meanwhile, the stock of Premium as of July 27, 2011 is 1.25 million kiloliter, or sufficient for 17 days of consumption. Diesel’s stock is 1.51 million kiloliter and would be sufficient for 19 days.
Harun suggested that all gas stations provide the stock for the next two days. Pertamina will also maintain the stock of non-subsidized fuels.
For Pertamax stock, it is currently 108,090 kiloliters or enough to be consumed in 70 days. Meanwhile, Pertamax Plus stock reached 29,130 kiloliters or enough for 103 days.
Pertamina has also prepared the task force to monitor the availability of stock for Eid. This task force will work between ten days before and after Eid.
The Company would also open up some posts along West Java, North and South Coast of Java, as well as Central Java.
